The event, part of the Erasmus+ AgriFood4Future project’s promotion and awareness campaign on emerging food trends and sustainable food production practices, explored emerging food trends and sustainable food production practices, seeking to answer key questions such as “How is the agrifood sector changing?”, “Is it possible to innovate the agrifood and agritech sector for a sustainable future?” and “What are the most urgent professional and educational challenges?”
Four companies presented their innovation experiences and their project solutions:
Gea Procomac spa: Innovation in food and beverage production, with a focus on sustainability and reduction of CO2 emissions.
Redox Srl: Development of technologies for precision agriculture, reducing the use of water and pesticides.
Geo Srl: Use of integrated technologies to improve sustainability and agricultural productivity.
The webinar also involved four young graduate and doctoral students (Andrea Lovazzano, Sara Zambianchi, Filippo Del Zozzo, Paolo Bonini) who shared their views on the skills needed in the agrifood sector. The importance of soft skills, such as the ability to work in a team and communication, emerged, which are essential to meet the challenges of the sector.
The AgriFood4Future project aims to transform the agrifood sector through digitization, environmental, social and economic sustainability, and new skills training. Innovation and cooperation are essential to ensure a sustainable future for agrifood.
