CoVE Spain Webinar: Fostering innovation and skills for the agri-food sector of tomorrow

On the 31^st of October, the AgriFood4Future Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) Spain hosted an engaging webinar focused on how vocational education and training are shaping the digital and sustainable transformation of the agri-food sector. The session brought together professionals, educators, and project partners to exchange experiences and showcase initiatives that link innovation with practical skills development.

Building a Collaborative Ecosystem

A key theme of the discussion was the role of Centres of Vocational Excellence as collaborative ecosystems. By connecting companies, institutions, and training centres, CoVEs help develop new competences and learning opportunities that respond to the changing needs of modern agriculture. This collaborative approach strengthens ties between education and industry, ensuring that training remains aligned with real-world challenges and opportunities.

Linking Data, Sustainability, and Digital Transformation

During the event, Virginia García Millán from the Universidad de Málaga presented the Andalusian AgriFood Data Space (Espacio de Datos Agroalimentario de Andalucía, EDAAn). By enabling better access to and use of agricultural data, this pioneering initiative exemplifies how data integration and digital innovation can promote sustainability and efficiency in agri-food production.

Bringing Innovation to the Field

The Catalan cluster Clúster FEMAC shared practical examples of its work on training farmers in precision agriculture. These activities show how technological innovation can be transferred directly to agricultural practice, helping professionals acquire the digital skills needed to manage resources efficiently and improve productivity.

Strengthening Cooperation Across Europe
