The Erasmus + AgriFood4Future project aims to develop vocational training skills and educational programmes that meet the needs of the “agriculture of the future” by contributing to the transformation of agri-food sector towards digitalisation, decarbonation and sustainability.
The open innovation test farm program brings together companies developing sustainable technologies and AF4F project partners offering real-life test platforms and knowledge exchange to assess and improve the technologies.
How does it work?
- Submission and Selection: Innovators submit their innovations through the application call and select the appropriate test farm to evaluate their technology. A panel selects the most relevant submissions based on the eligibility criteria.
- Testing and Feedback: Innovations are tested under real-life conditions. Participants receive feedback to refine their solutions.
- Showcase and Networking: The program will conclude with a Demo Day, where participants present their innovations to potential investors and partners, gaining valuable exposure and networking opportunities.

🌟The Objective
The objective of the Open Innovation Test Farm Program is to foster innovation and sustainability in the farming industry by providing startups with access to test farms across Europe, allowing them to validate their concept under real-life conditions offering them guidance, resources, and support to help startups navigate the challenges of bringing their ideas to market.
The program seeks to catalyze positive change in the farming industry by encouraging the development and implementation of innovative solutions that address key challenges facing the agricultural sector, such as optimizing production practices, enhancing data management, and integrating digital technologies.
🎯 Who is it for?
The program welcomes all innovators who have developed a product, service or technology with a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 4 to 5 or higher (Startups, VET Students or SMEs incorporated in Europe) in one or more of the following pillars :
