The Portuguese CoVE launches its first Newsletter: driving innovation and collaboration in the agri-food sector

The Portuguese Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE PT) has just released the first edition of its quarterly newsletter, marking an exciting milestone for the CoVE and its contribution to the AgriFood4Future (AF4F) project.

This new communication channel aims to bring together the latest news, initiatives, and opportunities from the agri-food sector in Portugal, as well as from the broader European AF4F ecosystem. Each issue will highlight innovative practices, training opportunities, open calls, and success stories that showcase how European collaboration is transforming the future of sustainable food systems.

The newsletter also encourages active participation from the community, inviting readers to share their challenges and collaboration needs, creating bridges between industry, education, and research. This approach reinforces the mission of the CoVE PT: to connect key players, foster innovation, and strengthen the competitiveness and resilience of the agri-food sector in Portugal and across Europe.

Among the highlights featured in this first edition are articles on emerging EU policies and opportunities such as the Nature Credits initiative and the new Common Agricultural Policy proposal, as well as updates on AF4F activities, including co-creation workshops, the Open Innovation Programme, and specialized training courses in soil microbiome analysis.

Led by Food4Sustainability CoLAB, and with founding members ISQ, BGI Sustainable Ventures, and GreenUPorto (University of Porto), the CoVE PT plays a pivotal role within AF4F by promoting innovation, digitalization, and sustainability in the Portuguese agri-food ecosystem.
