🐟 Visit to AmpliAqua – Regenerative Food Production R&D Unit
AmpliAqua is a pre-commercial R&D and innovation unit dedicated to developing regenerative solutions in sustainable food production. AmpliAqua focuses on cutting-edge technologies such as bioponics, liquid biofertilizer production, and integrated aquaculture systems. As a TestBed infrastructure, it enables applied research and technology transfer up to TRL 6/7, supporting the validation of innovative solutions that promote circularity, efficiency, and environmental resilience in agri-food systems.

13:10 – Guided Tour of Facilities
Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture System (IMTA):
- Fish section – primary trophic level
- Bioponic plant section – using nutrient-rich water from aquaculture
- Microalgae open raceways – capturing excess nutrients and supporting circularity
- Explanation of nutrient flow and indirect transfer between trophic levels for maximum efficiency and food safety
