About event
🐄 Visit to Herdade Monte do Rochão – Regenerative Cattle Farming
Explore the regenerative livestock practices of Herdade Monte do Rochão, a working organic cattle farm located in the Beira Baixa region. The farm raises Alentejana cattle, a resilient and endangered native Portuguese breed, in combination with Limousin and Charolais bulls to enhance meat quality and adaptability. The farm operates under an organic production system and employs rotational grazing techniques that promote pasture recovery, improve soil fertility, and increase carbon sequestration—supporting climate-resilient food systems and animal welfare.
